The objective of these sessions is two-fold:

Practice of the most relevant and essential grammar (qualitative aspect) with the aim of improving the second point (confidence and fluency).

Maintain daily contact with the language. The acquisition of confidence and fluency are greatly affected by the amount of contact with the language.

One-week non-residential intensive courses:

Course Description: 72.5 hours of direct Spanish language contact through a period of 5 days from 18:00 Sunday to 15:30 the following Friday. These 72.5 hours are comprised of 27 individual class hours, 4 business activity hours, and an additional 41.5 hours of Spanish in a social context through meals and various activities.

Location: Our training center is at El Toboso (Toledo) www.casadelatorre.es

Dates: This weekly program begins every Sunday at 18:00 throughout the year.

Participants: We bring together a maximum of 5 executives and 5 teachers (the relationship between students and teachers being 1:1). Most of the executives represent different companies. A maximum of 10 people will be together during the 41.5 “social” hours. During the 27 hours of formal class, the classes are on a one to one basis and the teachers rotate every hour.

Material and Content: These vary depending on the level and needs of each participant. It can focus solely on grammar, the production of oral expression and development of listening skills, or a combination of the two. A special emphasis on business Spanish can be made, relating specifically to the participant’s work requirements, or have a complete linguistic approach that is unrelated to the participant´s work position. An emphasis is usually placed on specific business related items such as problem solving, company procedures, or analysis if the participant demonstrates a significant agility and fluency with the language.

Spanish in a social context: The 41.5 hours of social Spanish are very important. During this part of the program the participants and the teachers are together and engaged in various activities such as eating, trivia game playing, and making presentations or doing debates, leading to an improvement in oral expression.

Progress: The course is equivalent to a year of traditional classes (hourly classes in a small group every other day for 9 to 10 months). In the case of these intensive programs, attendance is always 100%, there is a complete level of concentration, the pedagogic and human quality of the teachers is first rate and the environment is suited for such a course to be taken advantage of to the fullest. This environment allows for a great increase in listening skills and to help overcome certain fears associated with speaking a foreign language in public.
